{Sunday pamper} Love Me Beauty box

Love me beauty box review

It’s no news that I have a weakness for all things beauty. I try not to overwhelm you with beauty articles as this is primarily a fitness blog but when I find a beauty item that really stands out for me, I have to share it with you and the Love Me Beauty Box is one of them.

I discovered beauty boxes via a friend who got me a subscription as a birthday present. I reviewed some of the boxes there. I tried boxes from different companies but always stopped because of the same reason: there were always items I did not like into the box or I would receive too much of the same products i.e. eye shadows when I primarily do my makeup with eye pencils.

When Love Me Beauty contacted me to try their beauty box, I was not really interested at first thinking “not another beauty box”. I then realised that Love Me Beauty differentiates itself by being a truly customizable beauty box. It achieves the following in two ways. Firstly, you answer a questionnaire on your skin and hair type, but you then also precise which type of products you are interested in receiving. For instance, I am not interested in nail polishes at the moment as I cannot wear any when working at  the hospital. Secondly, once you have set up your profile and your product preferences, you can then either let one of their experts chose the beauty products you will receive or you can choose them yourself, which is genius. Indeed, each monthly box has a value of 60 credits and the product selection varies from being worth 10 credits for miniatures to 20 credits or for full size products. So each month you could pick up to 5 products that you really want to try. No more clutter in the house from unwanted samples.

Having done the profiling, I really loved the products suggested by Love Me Beauty and would have been very happy to create my own box but I let their experts chose the products for me for my box to review. I am really impressed. First of all there were 3 full size products, which alone are worth £33.89 while the Love Me Beauty box costs £10. Secondly, I think that the products really match my skin type. Here is what I have received.

Lanolips Banana balm, which I had read great review about but never dared buying as it costs £8.99. Well now that I have tried it I can guarantee that I will buy it again. It is by far the best lip balm I have ever tried.

Cailyn Gel Eye Shadow Pencil in Mauve. It glides on the eyelid for an easy application but once set is very resistant. You will need proper eye makeup remover to get rid of it. I am not sure how easy it is to find in the UK but you can purchase it from the Love Me Beauty boutique.

Percy & Reed Dry Conditioner I had heard of dry shampoo but never of dry conditioner. I guess this is the equivalent for curly hair which never get greasy in my experience. I am not sure how it will moisturise my hair long-term as this contains alcohol and silicone but it does a good job when used at giving my hair more shine and getting rid of the frizziness.

Malin + Goetz Grapefruit Face Cleanser I haven’t tried this cleanser yet but I like the fact that this brand focuses on natural product and that this face wash has exfoliating properties as I have found that exfoliation is the one thing that has helped reduce spots on my skin.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Or. Well the Huile prodigieuse is a classic French product which I have used many times in the past. I have never used this glittery version but I think it will had a nice touch of simmer with whatever NYE outfit I will wear this year.

So all in all, I am really impressed by Love Me Beauty. If you know a beauty addict, this will make a great Christmas present. You absolutely cannot go wrong as they can pick the product they like. Plus it’s nice to et a Christmas present that rolls over a couple of month. Last year Lawrence got me a subscription to Women’s Health magazine and each month I was like “Thank you for my Christmas present” haha.

You can get 50% off beauty products with the code displayed below.

Have you tried sample boxes before?

This sounds fab! I love beauty products too and easily spend a fortune in Boots every time I go in there! I used to buy fairly cheap and cheerful, and always stuck to the same brands, but now am trying new brands and more premium ones too. I might have to investigate Love Me Beauty!

I recommend trying Nuxe products, it’s a French brand I love and they have some (at least last month) on the LMB selection
